A press release issued in this regard stated that the Advocates of Air India considering compensation similar to the cases of motor vehicle accidents is incorrect and compensation amount of Rs 30 lakh and Rs 25 lakh in case of deceased women and child passengers respectively is too low.
The association has decided that they will not accept the compensation if it is too low and hence decide on the further course of action like engaging a foreign law firm and trying to get higher compensation through mediation with Insurance companies and filing suit if necessary.
As many as 34 family members of the deceased passengers mainly belonging to the Kerala State were present, the release added.
