Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Wednesday, he said that the skulls date back to mid-19th century close to 1857, when the Naragund rulers were in power. He said that not only the skulls even the bones have been recovered here.
However Acharya said that the skull samples have been taken to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli and Dharwar University to test the DNA samples.
