This can be no mere a robotic act as the entire “Kollywood” here is gearing up to a grand but “modest in equal measure” for the in-house wedding celebrations of the actor’s second daughter Soundharya here on September 3.

Rajnikanth has been a supreme picture of confidence and modesty in the past one week as he personally met every VIP who matters in Tamil Nadu’s  political and film worlds. Rajnikanth has invited Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and former chief minister Jayalalitha.  But this time, sources here say, he was even more meticulous, inviting leaders of all the other parties,  including MDMK leader Vaiko and Dalit leader Thirumavalavan for his second daughter’s wedding.

Soundharya is entering into wedlock with one Ashwin, a top player in the construction industry, a film industry source told Deccan Herald. Rajnikanth’s eldest daughter had married Tamil star Dhanush.

Preparations for the wedding are going on strictly as per tradition, sources said. It is not clear whether his one-time political adversary Jayalalitha will attend Soundharya’s wedding as “Amma”  left for her farm house in Kodanadu in Nilgiris district on Tuesday.

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa is expected to attend the reception on Thursday evening or the wedding on September 3 before leaving for Bangalore. Yeddiyurappa, who surprised everyone with his sudden arrival at Chennai on Wednesday evening,  drove to the Tirumala Temple and Information Centre at T Nagar.  However, sources said Yeddyurappa was on a personal visit for a “routine medical check-up” at a private hospital in the city.
