Mercedes August sales zoom 112 percent

"Our initiatives in 2010 have been targeted at customers from large as well as medium and small cities," said Wilfried Aulbur, chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India. The cumulative sales volume in the period from January-August grew 84 percent to 3,497 units in comparison to 1,899 units in the same period of 2009.

According to the company, its E-class brand lead the sales chart with a 312 percent growth at 206 units in August as against 50 units in the same month last year. "The C-class also reinforced its popularity by clocking 256 units in August 2010, which corresponds to a growth of 50 percent over August 2009 at 171 units," the company said.
