'BJP trying to solve Jamma Bane issue'

Last Updated 09 September 2010, 17:14 IST

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, BJP leaders strongly condemned the act of the Legislative Council member M C Naniah for writing letter accusing Legislative Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah for holding a meeting of Excise Department officials in order to solve Jamma Bane matter.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader M B Devaiah informed that no secret meeting was held with the Legislative Assembly speaker to discuss the matters related to Jamma Bane. “M C Naniah is unnecessarily intervening in the matter. BJP Government is doing its best to resolve the issue. The fact being so, we request Nanaiah and JDS to extend their co-operation,” he said.

Virajpet Taluk Panchayat member Addanda Kariappa criticised Nanaiah for poking his nose and trying to attain profit by politicising the issue.

ZP Education and Health Standing Committee President Manumutthappa said that the public themselves will teach a lesson to M C Nanaih for his redundant acts.  Taluk Akrama Sakrama President Shantheyanda Ravi Kushalappa and TP member Thaloor Kishor Kumar were present.
