Christ University won the boys’ title, beating MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology 57-38. Adil Anees top-scored for Christ with 20 points and Shivaji chipped-in with 18 points. Ananth scored 12 points for MSRIT in a losing effort.

Christ jumped into an early 9-0 lead and never looked back as they went into the break leading 37-19. In the second half Christ continued to dominate, eventually taking the match by nineteen points.

Sagarika, playing point guard, scored fourteen points and pretty much orchestrated every attack of the Carmelites as they cruised to a ten-point win.

In a fast-paced game, Carmelites took control early on, jumping into a healthy nine point lead at the end of the first quarter. The game followed the same pattern in the second quarter as well, with Mount Carmel scoring at will. Sagarika was especially impressive with her energy on both sides of the court. With SJCC struggling to mount a challenge, Mount Carmel went into the break 26-18 up.

SJCC badly needed a better second-half showing if they were to have any hopes of taking the title, but apart from a few spurts of good offence in the third quarter, they found it difficult to cope with the fast-paced Mount Carmel offence.

The end of the third quarter saw the Carmelites extend their lead to nine points. The fourth quarter did see a more spirited SJCC going on a good run to cut the lead to five points at 31-26. But Sagarika stepped in to make a couple of clutch baskets  as Mount Carmel held on for a ten-point win.
