The party in its complaint alleged that the Minister announced a policy decision of setting up equal opportunity commission for minorities in Gulbarga south assembly constituency, where byelections are scheduled to be held on September 13. The announcement by the Minister, according to the BJP, amounts to violation of model code of conduct.
The Minister had campaigned for the Congress candidate in the constituency on Thursday.
The BJP Bangalore city president B N Vijaykumar, who lodged the complaint, alleged that the Minister has also announced to provide incentives to industries and business houses which provide opportunities to deprived class and minorities in the private sector.
