According to a report in The Telegraph, Hunter, who is here to oversee the last-minute preparations for the October 3-14 mega-event, is busy purchasing 560 pairs of trousers and long-sleeved tops to protect the English contingent from the mosquito-borne deadly disease.

"Everyone has a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a long-sleeved top in their kit but when you're out here for three or four weeks you need a change of clothing," Hunter said.
"Having given them medical advice about covering up, it's only right that we provide them with the right clothes. I'm now looking at whether we can buy them off the peg or whether we need to get them manufactured," he said.

Off late, Delhi had witnessed an outbreak of dengue which has resulted in five deaths so far out of the 2,085 cases that have been reported till today. The disease is of particular concern for the visiting teams because of the Games Village's proximity to stagnant water bodies, which are ideal breeding grounds for the killer mosquitoes.

The Games Organising Committee also is in no mood to take any chances and are adopting precautionary measures by spraying the village with insecticide twice a day and carrying out anti-larvae treatment.
