Telecast rights move dropped

Replying to media queries, district in-charge minister S Suresh Kumar Saturday said the expression of interest would be withdrawn with immediate effect. He said that the TV channels can go ahead with the live telecast of the programmes like previous years.

Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta clarified that the district administration had invited expression of interest, as the Dasara Publicity Sub-Committee had paid Rs 10 lakh for using a particular type of camera crane to record events in the previous years.  The district administration had published advertisements in a section of media on September 17 inviting the expression of interest.
