<p>The convict, Shanthakumar, a resident of Kumbalahalli, was married to Bhagyamma (21) for six months. Shanthakumar had received Rs one lakh in cash and 400 gm of gold from his in-laws. An autorickshaw driver by profession, he had pledged the gold and bought two cars from the money to run a travel agency.<br /><br />Bhagyamma began pestering Shanthakumar to recover the gold. Following another altercation on the matter, Shanthakumar poured kerosene on his wife and set her afire.<br /><br />She was rushed to a hospital where she died.</p>
