Ambareesh opposes KPCC appointments

Seeks action against those indulged in anti-party activity

Talking to news persons here, he said various Block Congress Presidents of the district Congress Unit have strongly opposed the KPCC’s decision and threatened to launch agitation. “I will definitely support their cause and oppose giving KPCC membership for those involved in anti-party activities”.

Ambaressh said all Congress leaders should own moral responsibility for the defeat of party candidates in both Kadur and Gulbarga Assembly byelections. There was no need for Siddaramaiah to tender resignation to the post of  Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly.

Meanwhile, Ambarish lauded the City Municipal Council for christening a road after Dr Vivekananda who was known for services, in the city.
Former minister M S Atmananda, CMC president Arunkumar, Vice-President M J Chikkanna, CMC members Hosahalli Boregowda, K C Nagamma and family members of Vivekananda were present.

Turmoil within Cong
Meanwhile, in a separate press meet, several  Block Congress presidents of district Congress unit have condemned the party high command for making some persons who are accused of anti-party activities, as members of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

They charged that those leaders worked against the party officials candidates in the previous Assembly and Loksabha polls.

Addressing a news conference here, G C Anand, H M Ramakrishna, Doddaiah, H T Krishnegowda, Zabiulla and others charged that Ravindra Srikantaih and others had indulged in anti-party activities. Already, a report has been sent by the District Congress Unit recommending action against Ravindra Srikantaih and others. But the KPPCC has made them as KPCC members.
They threatened to stage a protest in front of KPCC Office in Bangalore if the membership was not cancelled forthwith.
 A fresh report about anti-party activities of Ravindra and others would be sent to the KPCC, they added. Zilla Panchayat members Yashodha, Pushpalatha and others were present.
