Police arrest seven for dacoity bid

The arrested are:  Gururaj alias Quarters Raja, a notorious rowdy-sheeter Raja (26), Raja (20),  Vikram (19), Chidananda (21), Anil (19), Panduranga (21) and Nagaraj (20). Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested them near Nalanda theatre on Mysore Road when they were discussing their modus operandi in a car.

The police seized the car, Rs 1,200 cash, chilli powder packets and lethal weapons.
Gururaj is involved in two murders, three attempts to murder and one house theft case. He came out of the prison and took to crime again.

He is a close associate of rowdy Thammaiah of Vijaynagar. He had even threatened to kill his rival gang members Marenahalli Vishwanath, Raghavendra, Sunil, added the police.
