And what’s more interesting is that all the participants were ardent quizzers who had won through school and college days.

The national level quizzing event was organised by the media trainees of Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication at the Electronic City last weekend.

The quiz was organised on the occasion of the 75th Birthday celebrations of the Founder - Chancellor Dr S B Mujumdar.

Most quizzers say they were impressed with the way the questions were framed.

It was indeed complicated for the contestants to crack it. It was evident that a lot of time had gone into choosing and planning the questions.

The participants found the quiz tough. But it did do well it teasing their intellect a little.

The quizzers were put through several different rounds, each complicated in its own way.

Rajat Neekhra, a senior process associate with TCS, says he felt that the  tough questions were framed deliberately.

“It was a well thought out process. It was a brain teaser of sorts. Quizzes like
this really help you update your knowledge about various things including current
affairs,” says Rajat.

Jayakrishnan Menon, a systems engineer with Infosys says while he found that the whole event was thoroughly disorganised, the quiz was truly challenging.

“You had to be updated with everything happening around you or you would just lose out. There were several rounds that weren’t easy at all,” he says.

School of Law Christ University walked away with the overall prize of Rs 50,000. The runners-up — Thejaswi Udupa and Ajay Kasargod of Yahoo won Rs 30,000.

A few others who participated in the quiz were NMIMS Bangalore, National Law School, School of Law Christ University, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, Commits, Wellingkar and PESIT.

The corporates were Cisco, HSBC, Infosys, Honeywell, TCS and IBM.
