Dasara committee flayed

Dasara Samithi former working president K M Ganesh has expressed his displeasure as grants were not sanctioned for multi-lingual poets meet at Dasara celebrations.

In spite of the state government sanctioning Rs 50 lakh for Dasara celebrations, the Dasara Samithi has failed to sanction funds for poets meet and thereby followed anti-people policy. It has failed to take sub committees into confidence. The sub committees have been neglected by the Dasara Samithi, he alleged.

The Dasara Samithi could have sanctioned grants to sub committees and Dasha mantapa committee for the Dasara celebrations. There are flood victims who wish to take part in the poets meet and sports meet during Dasara celebrations, he said in a release.
