The district administration will organise Datta Jayanti from December 20 to 22, said Deputy Commissioner M K Srirangaiah.

Chairing a preparatory meeting on Saturday, he said that Anasooya Jayanti will be observed on December 20, various rituals on December 21 and Datta Jayanti on December 22. All the basic amenities should be provided at Datta Peetha for the devotees, he added.

He said the road leading to Seethalayyanagiri, Mullayyanagiri, and Inam Dattatreya Bababudanswamy Dargah should be repaired. “All the weeds grown on either side of the road should be cleared. Signboards should be installed on the stretches. Snanaghatta at Honnammana halla should also be cleaned,” the deputy commissioner said.

He said the Datta Peetha should be supplied uninterrupted power supply on all the three days. A temporary health kiosk should be opened and ambulance and doctors should be deployed, he added.

He also said that KSRTC should deploy additional buses for the benefit of devotees.

He appealed to the members of various organisations to observe Datta Jayanti peacefully.

SP Harish Pande said that the Police Department will issue identity cards to volunteers and VIPs who take part in Datta Jayanti. Security will be strengthened at the sensitive areas.
