Brides cast vote

A bride was the head turner at St Lawrence English Medium School at Bondel in Mangaluru City South constituency, as she cast her vote dressed in her wedding gown.

Viola Maria Fernandes was to marry Sylvester Rodgrigues in Belthangady at 10.30 am. Before leaving for Belthangady, Viola and her family members exercised their franchise. Viola said casting her vote on her wedding day made her wedding a special and memorable.

Appreciating Viola and her family for not missing their right to exercise franchise, Rachana (Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry) president Stany Alvares in his Facebook post said, “Marriage is one of greatest celebrations in life. But voting is another celebration in life. Before leaving for marriage, Voila has voted in a true spirit.”

Another bride, decked in her bridal attire, too exercised her franchise at a polling booth in Bhandarybettu in Bantwal.

Marriage reception

Arpita J Salian, daughter of Janardhan and Nagaveni is working as a software engineer in Bengaluru. Her marriage reception was held at Modankaup in B C Road, on Saturday.

Arpita had entered into wedlock, at Delhi on April 29.
