The Bantwal police have filed cases against MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and BJP leader Harikrishna Bantwal for violating the model code of conduct.
The complaint was filed by flying squad official Abdul Razak. In the complaint, he said that the three leaders had spoken ill of Minister Ramanath Rai.
In total, 18 MCC violation cases have been registered in DK district since the announcement of the election.
One case each have been booked in Belthangady, Moodbidri and Mangaluru constituencies.
