Speaking to reporters after holding Vikasa Parva Yatre in Virajpet on Tuesday, he said, “Winning and losing are common in an election. If he (Siddaramaiah) wants, let him campaign in Ramanagaram till the election. Even after ruling for five years, Siddaramaiah has failed to introspect on the condition of Congress in Ramanagaram. In the byelection, Anitha Kumaraswamy had registered a thumping victory which Siddaramaiah should remember.”

Later, speaking at a public meeting in Virajpet, he said, “The JD(S) will waive farmers' loans within a month after coming to power. All the burning issues will be solved.”

The national parties have failed to give priority to pro-people works. As many as 41 persons have lost their lives due to elephant attack in Kodagu. The government has failed to provide a permanent solution to the problem. The Congress-led government has failed to ensure that welfare schemes reach the last stratum of the society. He added, “JD(S) will not become the kingmaker. Instead, the people of the state would like to make me a king.”

On M C Nanaiah quitting JD(S), he said, “Nanaiah, who was at home, was made an MLC. In spite of it, he has been alleging that the JD(S) has not done anything for him. JD(S) will not lose by his exit.”
