“People are disappointed with the Central government’s policies like demonetisation. Unemployment is the main issue bothering the young generation,” Mangaluru North Congress candidate Mohiyuddin Bawa said here on Thursday.

He was speaking during a programme in Chokkabettu near Suratkal where hundreds of BJP workers joined Congress party.

Terming the Central Government as “pro-capitalist”, he said that the Central government is only favouring the rich and has not framed any programmes to bring the poor to the mainstream. There are no achievements but sloganeering and publicity, Bawa said. “The state government is striving for the poor. The financially backward have been provided with free access to food. Also, apartments are being provided for them. One lakh jobs have been created,” he said. Bawa said that while businessmen were looting banks and fleeing to foreign countries, the Central government did nothing to prevent the fiscal damage.Mayor Bhaskar Moily and Deputy Mayor Muhammed were present.
