Poll code: UoM professors served notice

University of Mysore (UoM) Registrar D Bharati, on Monday, issued a show cause notice to Journalism professor B P Mahesh Chandra Guru and Kannada professor Aravinda Malagatti for violating the election model code of conduct by participating in a political campaign, recently.

The Election officials had written a letter to the UoM, directing to take action against the professors and thus the Registrar has served the notice, seeking an explanation from the professors.

The professors had participated in a programme called 'Janarajakarana’, organised by the Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike and other organisation, in the city, on Friday and had urged the people to support the Congress in the upcoming Assembly election.
