JD(S) candidate H D Revanna accused Holenarasipur Congress candidate B P Manjegowda of distributing money to lure voters of the constituency.

He also alleged that Manjegowda has been distributing the money he earned illegally through several officers of Regional Transport Office.

Revanna said, “D R Narayanaswamy of Doddamuthighatta, Channarayapatna, has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission in this regard seeking action against, Manjegowda’s brother B P Krishnegowda, a Motor Vehicles Inspector at Koppa.

He has also urged the EC to monitor transport officials C M Krishnegowda serving at Vijayapura, Gurumurthy at Bengaluru, B R Manjunath, M Y Annigeri, V P Ramesh, M Ranjitha, Gurumurthy Kulkarni, H C Sathyan and several others. The CBI should conduct a probe on these officials, Revanna urged.

Expenditure sensitive

The police department has already submitted a report to the district administration that out of seven constituencies in the district, Arkalgud, Holenarasipur, Sakleshpur and Hassan are expenditure-sensitive constituencies.

Revanna also alleged that Chief Secretary K Ratna Prabha is acting as a Congress agent. Though Manjegowda is facing corruption charges, the government has accepted his resignation, he said. “While Kempaiah is controlling the police department, Rathnaprabha has kept the revenue department in her control,” he alleged.

Adjustment politics

Commenting on the last-minute development not to field B Y Vijayendra as BJP candidate in Varuna constituency, Revanna said, Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah must have told that fielding Vijayendra might affect his son Yathindra. Hence, the party has decided not to give a ticket to Vijayendra and fielded a dummy candidate. This is all ‘adjustment politics’, he said.
