Double murder: 4 including ZP member held

The police on Friday have arrested four more persons, including a BJP Zilla Panchayat member, in connection with the double murder that took place in Kota on January 26.

Speaking to media persons, Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi said a total of six persons had been arrested so far. The four arrested are Raghvendra Kanchan, 38 years, a ZP member from Kota; Harish Reddy, 40, from Manur; Mahesh Ganiga, 38, from Kodavur and Ravichandra Poojary, 23, from Lakshminagara. All the three were arrested at Hosanagara in Shivamogga, Nimbargi said.

On Thursday, the police had arrested Rajashekar Reddy, 44, and Ravi alias Medical Ravi, 42, in Madikeri.

It was said that the arrested were in constant touch with Raghavendra since January 23 and they had also contacted him on the night when the crime was committed. Raghavendra has also reportedly confessed to the crime during the interrogation on late Thursday night.

The SP, further, said that others who were involved in the murder would also be nabbed at the earliest.

On the night of January 26, Bharath (28) and Yathish (27), residents of Kota, were brutally murdered by the acccused.
