Last Updated 07 December 2018, 18:14 IST

Drought relief amount has been deposited to the accounts of people who do not have a land, registered in their name. It is a conspiracy to loot the money. There is a need to conduct a probe into it, said Pradeep Achar, Secretary, Kadur Brashtachara Nirmoolane Vedike.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said, “I do not own a land. In spite of it my SB account at Karnataka Bank in Kadur was credited with drought relief amount. An amount of Rs 4,367 was deposited on July 18, 2016, and Rs 950 on August 2, 2016. I have already filed a complaint to the ACB against six persons, including Tahsildar and the Horticulture Department assistant director.”

“I will bring the issue to the notice of the DC as well. There is a need to probe into the distribution of drought relief amount in Kadur taluk. A total of Rs 14,349 have been deposited in the bank accounts of five persons, who do not own a land.”
