<p>Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh chief minister<a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/yogi-adityanath"> Yogi Adityanath</a> on Monday said that the era of erasing India's heritage in the name of 'secularism' was 'over' as he rechristened Mustafabad in the state's Lakhimpur Kheri district as 'Kabirdham'.</p><p>Addressing a public meeting after taking part in a Fair at Mustafabad, Adityanath said that his government had undertaken the work of beautification and restoration of the old glory of the religious places in the state. ''In the earlier governments, this money was spent on constructing boundary walls around the cemeteries,'' he added.</p><p>He said that the governments in the past had rechristened Ayodhya as Faizabad, Prayagraj as Allahabad and Kabirdham as Mustafabad. ''We have restored the original identity of these places,'', he said. ''We have restored the original names of all these places,'' he added.</p><p>The opposition governments used to do it on the pretext of secularism.....it is nothing but hypocrisy....the era of erasing our heritage in the name of secularism is now over,'' the chief minister remarked.</p>.Yogi Adityanath says 'political Islam' hurt Sanatan Dharma most, warns against buying 'halal certified' products.<p>He said that it was surprising that no Muslim lived in the village yet it was named as Mustafabad. ''This place will henceforth be known as Kabirdham,'' he announced, adding that the state government would take necessary action to complete the renaming of Mustafabad.</p><p>The place was known to have been associated with the Saint tradition and a famous Hindu seer Sant Asangdev Maharaj resided here, His teachings were still popular among the locals and a large number of devotees flock his 'ashram' here every year.</p><p>Adityanath said that the teachings of Kabir were still relevant as they promoted brotherhood., Jhansi railway station was named as Virangana Laxmibai Railway station and Faizabad cantonment railway station was rechristened as Ayodhya Cantonment. Besides, Jalabad in Saharanpur district was renamed as Parshurampuri.</p><p>While the BJP leaders have hailed these changes, the opposition parties have termed it as 'stunt' aimed at covering the failures of the government in delivering on major issues.</p>
