Delhi heads to polls in a matter of weeks, with as many as 1,55,24,858 voters set to exercise there franchise.

As we count the days, here's a look at the facilities set up by the Election Commission for differently-abled voters.

Who are eligible to avail of facilities for differently-abled voters?

Differently-abled voters can register under any of the aforementioned categories by filling up and submitting Form 6, either online, through the Saksham ECI app, or at a voter service centre.

As per the Election Commission, voters having at least one among the 21 disabilities listed under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 are eligible to access facilities for differently-abled voters.

The ECI categorises differently-abled voters under four large categories:

1. Visual impairment

2. Speech and hearing disability

3. Locomotor disability

4. Others

What facilities are there for differently-abled voters?

The ECI has, over the years, taken several steps to facilitate differently-abled people to vote.

As per the Commission, these initiatives include:

1. Mapping of all the Persons with Disabilities polling station wise

2. All Polling Stations are to be situated on the ground floor

3. PwD friendly facilities under AMF

4. Separate Queue for PwDs

5. Optional home voting facility

6. Voter EPICS/Slips in Braille

7. Braille Features on EVMs

8. Wheel Chairs and Ramps with Proper Gradient

9. Free Transport facility with Pick and Drop Facility
