Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 | Former MP Sanjaykaka Patil and district president Nishikant Bhosale join Ajit Pawar led NCP

Mumbai: In a significant development, former BJP MP from Sangli, Sanjaykaka Patil and District President Nishikant Bhosale Patil on Friday joined the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Sanjaykaka Patil lost the polls to Congress rebel and Independent candidate Vishal Patil.

They were inducted into the party fold by NCP National President Ajit Pawar and NCP State President Sunil Tatkare in Mumbai.

As soon as they joined the party, NCP announced them as the party’s candidates - Nishikant Patil from Islampur and Sanjaykaka Patil will represent the party from Tasgaon assembly constituency.

The joining of these leaders will strengthen the party’s base in the Sangli region, Tatkare said.

Patil will take in State NCP (SP) President Jayant Patil form Islampur.

Sanjaykaka Patil will take in Tasgaon where NCP (SP) has fielded Rohit Patil, the son of late Home Minister RR Patil.
