Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 | Yogi Adityanath calls MVA 'Maha Anari Gatbandhan‘

Mumbai: Describing the Congress-led alliance as "Maha Anari Gatbandhan", BJP’s star campaigner and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday invoked legendary Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji's saying that his message of “batiye mat” still holds good.

“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj united us all… taking inspiration from him, I repeatedly urge you all to 'batiye mat aur katiye mat’,” Yogi Adityanath said amid thunderous applause while addressing an election rally at Washim in Vidarbha region in Maharashtra.

“I am saying this again... recall and remember… kyunki jab bhi date the, toh kate the,” Yogi Adityanath said, adding that Shivaji Maharaj’s life and teaching say the same thing.

“Governments will come and our Bharat should become the biggest power in the world,” the UP CM said.

In Maharashtra, he said, the fight is between Maha Yuti comprising BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP and the “Maha Anari Gatbandhan” - a reference to Maha Vikas Aghadi led by the Congress and comprising Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP).

“I call them ‘anari’ as they are not bothered about ‘dharma’ (religion) and ‘desh’ (country),” Yogi Adityanath said, asking, “Did Congress ever honestly think about 'India' and ‘Indianness’?”
