Cristiano Ronaldo to launch new movie venture 'UR MARV' with filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, promises 'Hollywood stars'

Football legend and international icon Cristiano Ronaldo on Thursday announced a joint movie venture with filmmaker Matthew Vaughn called 'UR MARV'.

In a statement on X, Ronaldo wrote, "Cristiano Ronaldo loves movies; Matthew Vaughn loves sport and they both love a good story.

Both have been champions at their game and will now combine the world of sport and storytelling through the launch of UR-MARV, an independent joint venture film studio embracing innovative technology, with a nod to tradition."

"This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business", Cristiano Ronaldo said in his post.

"Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him - he's a real-life superhero", Matthew Vaughn added.

Ronaldo also posted a promotional video on his socials, where scenes from many holywood movies, including those of Matthew Vaughn were seen, and various actors featured, with Taron Egerton featuring prominently.

The promotional video promised 'hollywood stars' to feature in this latest venture by the 40-year-old Al-Nassr player.

Ronaldo's massive influence off the field is very well-known. Aside from social media, he also runs various business ventures including Ursu Water, Erakulis fitness app, and the CR7 brand, which makes fragrances, underwear, eyewear and footwear.

Late in 2024, Ronaldo surpassed 1 billion followers cumulatively across all social media platforms, a feat no other person had previously achieved.

Matthew Vaughn is known for his action films, including the 'Kingsman' series. He has also predominantly a large amount of films with Taron Egerton, including 'Tetris', 'Eddie the Eagle' and 'Rocketman'. Naturally one wonders if Egerton will join the director and CR7 in this new venture.
