Zee Studios on Monday unveiled the Teri Aankhon Mein song from the upcoming movie Thalaivii much to the delight of fans. The video features Kangana Ranaut as the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and highlights her reel relationship with Arvind Swami who plays her mentor MGR.

The song has been composed by G V Prakash Kumar and penned by Irshad Kamil. Armaan Malik's playback singing for the Roja actor while former Indian Idol contestant Prajakta Shukre has lent her voice to Bollywood's 'Queen'.

Thalaivii is based on Amma's life and revolves around key moments from her personal and professional journey. It will touch upon her contribution to Tamil cinema and highlight her rise as a mass leader. Arvind Swami garnered a fair deal of attention when he starred in Roja and Bombay. While many thought that the films would establish him as a pan-India star that did not happen as he turned his attention to her personal commitments.

The star tried to make an impact in Bollywood with Dear Dad, which did not live up to expectations. It remains to be seen whether the biggie helps him add a new dimension to his career.

The cast includes Raj Arjun and Bhagyashree. Raj Arjun, who recently garnered attention with his work in the web series Sabka Sai, plays the role of political leader R M Veerappan in the pan-India movie. Kangana will be seen in several distinct looks in the film, which has piqued the curiosity of fans.

Thalaivii is set to hit the screens in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on September 10. It comes at a time when Bollywood is trying to regain its mojo after the Covid-19 pandemic. Bellbottom, starring Akshay Kumar, hit the screens on August 19 and made a decent impact at the box office. Amitabh Bachchan's Chehre, however, failed to live up to expectations. It remains to be seen whether Thalaivii beats the odds to emerge as a hit.
