'Karisma never wanted to remarry after divorce with Sunjay Kapur,' says Randhir Kapoor

Sona Comstar Chairman Sunjay Kapur, who was previously married to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, tragically died of a heart attack, reportedly after he swallowed a bee while playing polo. His sudden passing has left many in shock. After a delay caused by legal procedures tied to his overseas citizenship, his funeral is finally taking place in Delhi on June 19, followed by a prayer meeting on June 22.

Reports suggest several influential personalities are expected to attend his funeral and prayer meet and offer their tributes to one of the famous faces in Delhi. Sunjay and Karisma initially enjoyed a blissful married life, but their relationship took a downturn in mid-2015, leading to their separation in 2016.

The couple has two children together - Samaira and Kiaan. While Sunjay quickly moved on and tied the knot with Priya Sachdev, Karisma focused on raising her children and gradually resumed her career in showbiz.

Amid everything, an old DNA interview featuring Karisma Kapoor’s father, veteran actor Randhir Kapoor, is making the rounds again. In the interview, Randhir addressed the rumours about her possible second marriage and her then-alleged relationship with businessman Sandeep Toshniwal. He said that Karisma appeared happy with her life and showed no interest in remarrying.

“I think Lolo (Karisma) is very well settled and happy. I have never discussed the issue of marriage with her, but if she does plan to, she will always have my blessings. But I don’t think she wants to get married. She is a happy mother, and if she wants, she can get married any time, but there is no step in that direction right now. She is happy the way she is," Randhir said.

He also called Karisma an “excellent mother,” applauding her commitment towards her kids and affirming that her sense of fulfilment may be why she hasn’t considered remarriage. “Karisma is an excellent mother who dotes on her children and probably doesn’t feel the need to get married."

Earlier, during Karisma’s difficult phase amid her high-profile divorce from Sunjay in 2016, Randhir Kapoor also spoke to Hindustan Times, openly admitting, “I was never in favour of her marrying him.”

However, Karisma has never spoken about her personal life and maintained a poised public profile while working on her acting career, photoshoots, and brand endorsements.
