Kota Srinivasa Rao: From Padma Shri to Andhra's Nandi honour, list of awards received by late Telugu actor

Renowned Telugu actor and celebrated comedian Kota Srinivasa Rao, who passed away on Sunday, had won prestigious awards during his cine career that included over 600 feature films.

From one of the highest civilian honours of India, Padma Shri, to Andhra Pradesh's Nandi honour, he had notable awards to his name, along with many more nominations.

In 2015, Kota Srinivasa Rao was conferred with one of India's highest civilian awards. He received Padma Shri from then President Pranab Mukherjee as a testament to his excellence in acting, spanning over several decades.

The actor had received the Nandi Award, an annual award presented by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to acknowledge excellence in Telugu cinema, theatre, and television.

He was presented with this award not once or twice, but nine times in his overall career. His awards range from 1985 to 2006.

In 2012, Kota added the South Indian International Movie Award (SIIMA) to his collection. The award celebrated his acting in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, a Telugu film that starred Rana Daggubati and Nayanthara among others

Hyderabad Times Film Award

His negative role in the film Dookudo won him another recognition. He won the Hyderabad Times Film Awards in 2012 for the 'Best Actor in negative role (male)'.. Next year, he remained a nominee for the same honour under the 'Best Actor in a supporting role' category.
