While we had the mythical characters such as Furies, Stygian witches, Medusa, Kraken, etc in the first fim, in Wrath of the Titans they are from Greek mythology such as Cyclops, Kronos, Chimera and Andromeda. It’s interesting to see how deeper the scriptwriters would dig to get more imaginary creatures for future fantasy films!<br /><br />Whereas Clash of the Titans was based on the legend of Perseus, Wrath of the Titans is not based on any Greek legends, instead it is a whole new tale which begins 12 years after Perseus (Worthington) has killed the Kraken. Perseus has chosen a quiet life as a fisherman, raising his son Helius as a single parent on earth. As mankind has lost its faith in the gods, a struggle for supremacy takes place between the gods and the Titans, imprisoned in the underworld.<br /><br />Perseus has no choice but to rescue his father Zeus (Neeson), when Hades (Fiennes) and Ares (Ramírez) strike a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. <br /><br />Zeus gradually loses his powers (Are the humans not losing faith in the gods) and the Titans unleash hell on earth. <br /><br />Perseus enlists additional reinforcements, a warrior queen Andromeda (Pike), Agenor (Kebbell) and Hephaestus (Nighy) as he embarks on a quest into the underworld to rescue his father, overthrow the Titans and save mankind. </p>
