
Freedom fighter K E Krishnagowda of Koodalli passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Thursday. He was 98.
A Gandhian, Krishnegowda had actively taken part in the Quit India movement. He took part of the national festivals even in his old age and called upon the youth to inculcate patriotic values. Krishnegowda had been also recognised in the fields of agriculture, cottage industry and rural development. He is survived by wife Gangamma, sons Suresh and Yatish and daughter Chaya.
MLA M P Kumaraswamy, former MLA B B Ningaiah, former MLC Motamma and Karnataka Growers’ Federation president Jayaram Gowda have condoled the demise of Krishnegowda. The final rites would be performed in Koodalli on Friday afternoon, the family sources said.
