Nearly four years ago, two young engineering graduates set up their own startup in Hubballi, using the incubation facility, with a vision to bring change in the life of people in this region, using technology platform.

Today, this firm has 22 employees who are all technology graduates from North Karnataka region, while it also has a branch in Pune now.

After their 'Locus Offer' mobile app to connect local retail vendors with customers in the City worked well, which was later purchased by a bigger company, Coding Spider Infotech Private Limited has come up with another unique app now.

This time, to connect specialist doctors and medical representatives in the City, so that both of them can save time and get updates.

BE graduates Sanjay Kangralkar and Adil Siddiqui, along with Rizwan, founded the firm, incubated by the Centre for Technological Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CTIE) at the BVBCET (now KLETU) here, in 2015.

Their first product was 'Locus Offer' app which was meant for local retailers who had better offers and products, but could not afford to be on noted e-commerce portals. As this idea clicked, a Bengaluru-based company purchased it, and relaunched in with another name.

'App to help MRs'

"For the sustainability of the firm, we took orders for service of an online examination platform of the Union Government, and we also develop softwares for MNCs. To help both doctors and medical representatives, we have now developed 'EazyMR' app," says Coding Spider co-founder Sanjay Kangralkar.

Rs 350 is the annual charge for medical representatives, and it is free for doctors. Instead of visiting hospitals to get time to meet doctors, and face inconvenience if the appointment is cancelled, medical representatives can now book their appointment online, as per the slot given by doctors, and plan their work well. Doctors can also give intimation about changes, which would help the MRs, he explained.

At present, 28 doctors and 824 MRs in Hubballi, and 48 doctors and around 1,200 MRs in Dharwad are using this app. The plan is to expand this service to 10 more Cities, especially in North Karnataka region, Sanjay said.

This is the first such app in the country, and for this reason, we are selected for India Achievers Award-2019 of Blindwink company. We started from scratches, and the turnover of our firm now is in lakhs of rupees, he said, adding that desire to stay in hometown and do something for the people here made him an entrepreneur.
