Indecent behaviour: Man arrested

A Madarasa teacher, who misbehaved with a woman passenger in a bus, was thrashed by the woman and the public, in Kota on Friday evening.

The woman was travelling to Kota from Udupi after her work.

Abdul Samad (31), a teacher in a Madrasa at Navunda and a resident of Thokkottu in Mangaluru, was travelling in the same bus.

He reportedly misbehaved with the woman by touching her inappropriately.

The accused continued with his indecent behavior even after the woman threatened to complain to police.

When the bus reached Moorukai in Kota, the teacher sensing trouble got down from the bus hurriedly and attempted to flee from the spot.

The woman, who was trailing him, began to hit him. The locals also rushed to the support of woman and thrashed the teacher.

Samad was arrested and a case was registered under Section 354 of IPC.

He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
