India, Pakistan end diplomatic spat

India and Pakistan on Friday ended the row over harassment of their diplomats in each other's capitals.

"India and Pakistan have mutually agreed to resolve matters related to the treatment of diplomats and diplomatic premises, in line with the 1992 Code of Conduct for the treatment of diplomatic and consular personnel in India and Pakistan," Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, said in New Delhi.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Government also issued a similar statement in Islamabad and posted it on its website.

The spat between the two countries over harassment of their diplomats in each other's capitals escalated earlier this month. Both sides alleged that the diplomats posted in High Commissions  in  each other's capitals were being harassed by sleuths of their respective security agencies.
