Including Muslims in BCs list is a severe blow to Hindus, says Bandi Sanjay Kumar

Union minister cited GHMC polls as proof saying due to reservation policy of YSR govt, Muslims won seats that should have gone to BC candidates.

Hyderabad: Adding fire to the ongoing debate around the caste survey conducted by the Telangana government, union minister of state for home affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, said on Saturday that including Muslims in the BC list is part of a larger conspiracy and warned that this move would jeopardise the chances of Hindu society winning in BC-reserved constituencies in the future.

While the opposition BRS has been criticising that the BC numbers have come down in the survey that was conducted by the Congress government, the ruling party has been defending, stating the BC numbers, including those belonging to minority Muslims, stand at 56.33% of the total population that was enumerated. According to the survey, the BC population stands at 46.25%, and BCs among Muslims were 10.08%.

While talking in a rally organised as part of the MLC election campaign in Karimnagar on Saturday, Sanjay cited the results of past GHMC elections as proof, arguing that due to the 4% reservation policy implemented by the YS Rajasekhar Reddy government, Muslims won seats that should have gone to BC candidates.

"On one hand, BC population percentages are being deliberately reduced in caste enumeration. On the other hand, Muslims are being added to the BC list to inflict a severe blow to Hindu society. Congress is insulting BC communities. If Muslims are mistakenly classified as BCs, they will dominate villages, and Hindus will lose representation. Why are BC organisations silent in the face of such injustice? Why have they shut their mouths?" he questioned.

He criticised intellectuals and graduates for remaining silent, calling their inaction a misfortune for society. He urged voters to teach Congress a lesson in the MLC elections by supporting BJP candidates. He mocked Congress, saying that the people of Delhi had given them a suitable response to their failures.

As part of the MLC election campaign, the BJP organised a "Sankalpa Yatra" for graduates from Ramnagar Chowrasta to Geetha Bhavan Chowrasta in Karimnagar. Alongside Bandi Sanjay, Medak MP Raghunandan Rao and Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh, MLAs Payal Shankar, Katepalli Venkatramana Reddy, and several other leaders attended. During this, Bandi Sanjay unveiled BJP’s MLC election manifesto and addressed the public with key statements:

"Revanth Reddy is just like KCR—an ‘iron leg.’ Wherever they campaign, their party loses. Congress collapsed in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi after his campaigns. KCR is no different. If you vote for Congress in MLC elections, no one will fight for your promotions, DA hikes, or unemployment problems. Congress has a history of betraying the unemployed, falsely promising 2 lakh jobs in one year," said Sanjay.

He reminded that the BJP alone fought against GO 317, stood with teachers, endured police lathi charges, and shed blood for their cause. He asserted that BJP had fought for PRC benefits for employees and teachers, unlike Congress, which left voters with nothing but "donkey eggs."

He further alleged that BRS did not field an MLC candidate because of a secret deal with Congress, claiming that both parties are the same.

"Do you know why KTR was not arrested in the drugs case despite solid evidence? Why are Kaleshwaram and Farmhouse scam investigations going nowhere? Why did Congress leaders, who claimed Formula E scam arrests were inevitable, suddenly go silent? It’s because Congress and BRS struck a secret deal," added Sanjay.
