<p>Lucknow: The result of the forthcoming Assembly polls in Bihar is likely to decide the stature of BSP supremo Mayawati’s nephew Akash Anand in the party. Akash has been entrusted with the task of leading BSP’s election campaign in the state. </p><p>‘’The Bihar assembly polls will be a litmus test for Akash.....his stature within the BSP will depend on how the BSP fares in the elections,’’ said a BSP leader here. Akash was recently appointed the chief national coordinator of the BSP.</p><p>BSP has announced that it will go solo in the Bihar Assembly polls and will field candidates on all the seats.</p><p>BSP sources said that Akash had been given the responsibility to bring back the Dalit voters to the party. BSP has never been a force to reckon with in Bihar and its vote share has been on the decline since past few years.</p>.Bihar Cabinet approves Rs 882.87 crore for development of temple at birthplace of Goddess Sita.<p>‘’Akash Anand faces the challenge of not only bringing back the Dalit voters to the party fold but also increasing the party’s base among the youths....he will also be facing the challenge to re-energise the party cadre in the poll bound state,’’ the leader said.</p><p>According to the BSP sources, Mayawati, who had stripped Akash of all the posts following his ‘immature comments’ only to reinstate him as national coordinator later after he tendered a public apology, is hoping that Akash will be able to help the BSP regain its vote bank in Uttar Pradesh and counter firebrand Dalit leader and MP Chandrashekhar Azad in the state.</p><p>Chandrashekhar has accused Mayawati of failing to take up issues concerning the Dalits in the state and has projected himself as an alternative to the BSP. He wields considerable influence over the Dalits in the western UP districts, especially Saharanpur, Meerut, Bijnor, Amroha and some others.</p>
