'I will deal with it': Lalu seeks to manage spiraling family feud even as Rohini slams 'filthy kidney' row

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday sought to contain the increasing public feud within his family, insisting that the turmoil was ‘an internal matter’ and would be resolved within the family.

Reportedly in a party meeting in Patna, Lalu firmly suggested, ‘I am there to deal with it’, signaling an attempt to reassert authority as a crisis within the Yadav household played out across social media.

Lalu's intervention came after days of explosive exchanges between his children following the RJD electoral setback. At the centre of the conflict is a bitter confrontation between his daughter Rohini Acharya and his youngest son Tejashwi Yadav. The dispute has also divided the broader family, which includes the three Rohini's sisters and brother Tej Pratap appearing to be one side while the elder sibling Misa Bharti publicly siding with Tejashwi.

The rift burst into the open after Rohini posted a series of accusations on X, alleging that she had been ‘sworn at’, ‘driven out’ of her parents’ home and maligned by Tejashwi’s loyalists. Who allegedly claimed she had extracted ‘crores of rupees and a party ticket’ in return for the kidney she donated to her father.

Rohini Acharya on Tuesday slammed those who accused her of giving a "filthy kidney" to her ailing father including her brother and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav, challenging them to an open debate with her on the issue.

She also asked these people to donate their kidneys to millions of patients needing the organ "in the name of Lalu ji".
