<p>The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rejected a plea of jailed underworld don Abu Salem for a 45-day-parole to marry his girlfriend, who stays in the suburbs of Mumbai.</p>.<p>"Those convicted under terror charges are not eligible either for furlough or parole," a division bench of the Bombay High Court comprising acting Chief Justice V K Tahilramani and Justice M S Sonak reasoned while rejecting the plea. Salem is currently lodged in the Taloja jail in the neighbouring Raigad district.</p>.<p>Earlier, the application was turned down by the Divisional Commissioner of Konkan division.</p>.<p>Salem, who was extradited from Portugal in 2005, has been convicted in two cases in Mumbai, including the March 12, 1993, serial blasts case and murder of builder Pradeep Jain. In both the cases, he had been sentenced to life imprisonment.</p>.<p>In 2005, Salem first moved the special TADA court seeking permission to marry the lady. The woman, a resident of Mumbra suburbs of Thane district, too, had moved the court earlier.</p>.<p>The girl, Heena alias Kausar Bahar, stays with her mother, maternal grandfather and her elder brother – and is said to be a commerce graduate.</p>.<p>She is the same women who is reported to have married Salem, over the phone, while he was being taken on a train to Lucknow.</p>.<p>He married Samira Jumani, a college-going 17-year-old minor in 1991, from whom he has two sons. They later divorced.</p>.<p>Samira currently lives in Duluth, Georgia, United States. Later, Salem and Bollywood actress Monica Bedi became companions. Both were extradited to Mumbai from Portugal in 2005.</p>
