A court here on Tuesday dismissed a CBI petition seeking a four day custody for interrogating former Union telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran’s aides, who were arrested and remanded in a case related to illegal telephone exchange case.

When the petition filed by the CBI came up for hearing, Judge Krishnamoorthy, after dismissing the plea, also reserved order on Wednesday with regard to a bail petition filed by Maran associates.

A special CBI team from New Delhi had arrested Maran’s former private secretary V Gowthaman, the then additional private secretary of Maran, Chief Technical Officer S Kannan and electrician K S Ravi of Sun TV network last week.

The allegation against Maran is that he had got installed over 300 telephone lines at his residence while he was the Union telecom minister and then connected them to his brother Kalanidhi Maran owned Sun TV office for further up-linking videos.
