<p class="title">The Chief Justice of the India-led bench would on Friday hear a plea made by senior IPS officer Alok Verma against the order passed on October 23 divesting him of the charge as the CBI director.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Verma's petition has been shown as listed before a bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and K M Joseph. A similar petition by advocate Prashant Bhushan on behalf of NGO 'Common Cause' would also come up for hearing before the same bench.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Among others, both Verma and the NGO contended that the CBI director appointed with a fixed tenure of two years by a high-powered committee comprising of PM, the leader of Opposition and the CJI, cannot be transferred without its consent.</p>
