The Congress on Wednesday created ruckus in the Lok Sabha and staged a walkout demanding action against Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh for making a controversial remark after two Dalit children were burnt to death in a village in Haryana.

The MPs of the Trinamool Congress and Leftist parties, too, walked out from the Lok Sabha, protesting against Singh’s remark, which purportedly drew an analogy between killing of Dalit children in Haryana and stoning of dogs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on his seat in the front row of the Treasury Bench, when the Congress MPs trooped into the well of the House and started raising slogans.

As Speaker Sumitra Mahajan’s repeated appeal to the protesting Congress MPs to return to their seats fell on deaf ears, Prime Minister was seen leaving the House visibly upset.

Participating in a debate in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi accused the minister of state for external affairs of comparing Dalit children with dogs and questioned how the prime minister allowed him to remain in his Council of Ministers even after he made such a remark.
