Cong rakes up Jashodaben issue after attack on Sonia

Congress on Friday brought up Modi’s estranged wife Jashodaben’s plight with RTI laws after Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Sonia Gandhi for being the “unconstitutional” authority exercising “real” power over the PMO during the 10-year UPA rule.

AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni cited reports of Jashodaben’s experience with RTI laws under the Modi government and contended that her pleas for information regarding her very existence went unheard.

“Jashodaben has been using RTI. But even her pleas are ignored. I can sympathise with the woman who is wondering about her very existence,” Soni said. The Congress’ sharp attack came after Modi accused Congress president Sonia Gandhi of wielding “unconstitutional” authority over the Prime Minister’s Office during the UPA rule.
