Adding yet another acronym to the poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh, BJP national president Amit Shah on Wednesday dubbed the rival parties ‘KASAB’, where ‘KA’ stands for the Congress, ‘SA’ for Samajwadi Party, and ‘B’ for BSP.

Addressing election meetings in Azamgarh and Gorakhpur districts, Shah said, “UP is afflicted with the KASAB disease. We have to throw them out of the state.”

Game of acronyms

The reference was in Hindi unlike Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘SCAM’ (the letters standing for Samajwadi Party, Congress, Akhilesh and Mayawati).

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had sought to change the full form of SCAM and said it stood for ‘Save Country from Amit, Modi’.
BSP supremo Mayawati had a few days ago coined a new term to describe the prime minister, saying his full name Narendra Damodardas Modi stood for ‘Negative Dalit Man’.
