Amidst infighting among top leadership, the Congress on Sunday changed its candidate from Maharashtra's Chandrapur constituency.

Last week, the Congress named Vinayak Bagade, however, after MPCC president Ashok Chavan's threat to resign, on Sunday, the party named Suresh Dhanorkar to contest in Chandrapur.

The BJP had fielded four-time MP and Union minister Hansraj Aher. It's a direct the BJP versus the Congress contest.

On Sunday, the Congress announced its list of candidates which named Suresh Dhanorkar in place of Vinayak Bagade.

The list was signed by AICC general secretary in-charge of central election committee, Mukul Wasnik.

On Saturday, a video went viral, in which Chavan was heard expressing displeasure over Wasnik.

Apparently, Chavan was speaking to a party worker, who identified himself as Rajurkar.

"No one is listening to me, I am planning to resign," said Chavan, a loyalist of the Nehru-Gandhi family.

From the conversation has generated political heat.

The caller expressed anguish that Vinayak Bagde has been given a party ticket.

Chavan also suggested the caller that the latter should speak to Mukul Wasik, suggesting that he was calling the shots.

"But Mukul Wasnik is no one in front of you," the caller said.

Later, when reporters asked him, Chavan said that he had not seen or heard the clip.

"But it's true that there were issues as regards the Chandrapur seat. It is an internal matter of the party, I would not discuss in public," he said.
