Petitioner Anand Yagnik alleged that Modi, in his letter to the prime minister, sought annulment of the Lokayukta's appointment even as the court was seized of a plea related to the issue. Governor Kamla Beniwal last month appointed retired judge R.A. Mehta as the Lokayukta.
