Prime Minister Narendra Modi was fact-checked on Twitter after claiming in an interview to the Hindi News Channel, News Nation, that he had used a digital camera to click LK Advani's picture in the late 1980s.
In the same video that went viral on Sunday, he also claimed that he had used an iPad like tablet with a stylus in the early 1990s.
The wild claims made by the Prime Minister got him quite a lot of attention. People on Twitter also mocked his statements by using the #CloudyModi, which is trending on the social media website.
Congress Spokesperson Sanjay Jha tweeted, "That #Modi lies is a given. That he does so brazenly, repeatedly and publicly is symptomatic of a visceral arrogance that even his lies will be trusted. It is an acute form of megalomania, a serious affliction.
Our beloved PM @narendramodi is far Sighted Scientist.

Before Internet came to India he sent E-Mail
Produced Gas from Dirty Nala to make Chai
Carried Gas in Tube on Cycle
Nobel Winner for Discovering Reason on Global Warming

As per PM #Modi's own admissions, he has used a digital camera & email before anyone else in India & travelled to 45 countries (including 23 states in USA) before becoming Gujarat CM, yet somehow he did not have money to buy shoes or mangoes.#CloudyModi

The question is even if @narendramodi did have an #email id in 1988 when the rest of the world didn't, who was he sending emails to? #CloudyModi #DeshModiKeSaath #DigitalCamera

Even if we give him the benefit of old age, I wonder how the fakir was able to afford a digital camera costing 7lakhs back in 1987! Either he is a pathalogical liar or he thinks everyone else is inane. Really sad 😢 #digitalcamera

On the other hand, some people also blamed the journalists for not cross-questioning him during the interview.
not fault of Modi. Be it Radar technology or E-mail in 1988. It is fault of journalists sitting in front of him.

They couldn't cross him right there because of two reasons.
1. It was scripted IV.
2. I bet, both of them know nothing about technological aspects of radar or email.
This claim by the Prime Minister was made during the same interview which gave rise to 'Cloud Theory' that went viral on social media platforms.
