Fatwa calls for educating Muslim girls

The fatwa has been issued by the prestigious Lucknow-based Darul Uloom, Firangi Mahal in reply to a query with regards to education for Muslim girls.

“Educating Muslim girls is mandatory in accordance with the Sharia,” the fatwa said, adding, that the Quran laid great emphasis on education.

The fatwa said that it is the responsibility of every Muslim man to provide education to his daughters and sisters and treat them well. “Such a person gets a place in jannat (heaven).”
It added that the Sharia provides that maid servants should also be given education.
