<p>Ahmedabad: Seven members of a businessman's family in Surat including three children aged three, five and seven were found dead in their flat Saturday. Police suspect it is a case of mass suicide triggered by economic crisis the family was going through. </p><p>According to Surat police, furniture businessman Manish Solanki allegedly poisoned his family members before killing himself by hanging on Friday night. The neighbour informed the police on Saturday after suspecting foul smelling coming out of Solanki's flat located in Palanpur Patia in Adajan area of the city.</p><p>Police suspect that Manish Solanki, 35, first poisoned his wife Rita, 32, children Kushal, 3, Kavya, 5 and Disha, 7, parents Kantilal, 65, and Shobhna, 60, before hanging himself. </p><p>According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rakesh Barot, a suspected suicide note has been recovered from the flat hinting that the reason behind the ending lives could be related to money. Barot told reporters that the investigation was on to find out what exactly pushed the family to take the extreme step. </p><p>Police said that Solanki was running a business of supplying furniture to newly constructed buildings. He had over 30 employees working for him. Police suspect that Solanki lent money to some unidentified person who was refusing to pay back which could have resulted in financial distress.</p>
